For Elgin watches, case serial numbers on solid gold watches will usually be only 10% or less of the serial number on the movement. So, if someone is selling a watch as solid gold, and it has a movement serial number of, say, 3,870,123 and it has a case serial number of 1,073,678, a red flag should go up in your mind and you should be even more. The Pocket Watch Database has compiled data covering the major American pocket watch manufacturers and created an easy way to find information using the serial number on the watch movement. Here are a few tips to find information about your pocket watch: Always input the serial number from the pocket watch movement (the 'mechanism' of the watch). Brief History: Omega Watch Company Including Serial Numbers, Production Dates and Calibers. 1848 - Present. La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland. The Omega Watch Company was founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland in 1848. Brandt, 23 years old, began by hand assembling watches from parts produced by local craftsmen. You enter the watches number into the apprpriate field, in the next window you'll see your model name, model number and serial number of your watch. This information should fully match the data on your watch back cover and instruction manual sheet - then you can then be rest assured that you're the owner of the fully legal product. Jul 02, 2020 Look for Serial Number or IMEI. If you don't have your Apple Watch, you can use your iPhone instead: On your iPhone, open the Apple Watch app. Tap the My Watch tab, then tap General About. Look for Serial Number or IMEI. The IMEI is available on Apple Watch GPS + Cellular models only.

Seth Thomas Tower Clock Installations
Thanks to a recent donation we now have a list of the Seth Thomas Tower Clock installations, both domestic and foreign. The list is organized first by state and then by country and shows dates, places, and a short description of the movement for (as far as we can tell) all of the Seth Thomas Tower Clocks. We also have a list of places where the Seth Thomas movement was replaced by an International Time Recording Master Clock between 1924 and 1927. The list was initially sent to the head of General Time after they acquired Seth Thomas and we are very excited to be able to make it available. Due to the size of the document it has been split into two parts.
